In the streets of Cairo, couples try to slip away to exchange a kiss here, a hug there, far from the watchful eyes of Big Brother, who guards a public space that is traditionally reserved for modesty.

Farah Elmokadem is an Egyptian filmmaker based in Paris. In 2021, she directed her first feature-length documentary, VOIX DE MIGRANT.E.S (Voices of Migrants), as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the APICED association. In 2025, she directed VOIE PUBLIQUE (Public Road), a short film exploring public displays of affection in the streets of Cairo.
