After fleeing the Taliban, Nahid, a 15-year-old Afghan girl, is stranded in the Bosnian border town of Velika Kladuša. She meets Ferida, a war-scarred Bosnian who witnesses the desperate attempts of refugees to reach Europe. The two women find echoes of their respective lives in each other.
Lara Milena BROSE studies documentary filmmaking at the University of Television and Film Munich. Her documentary SURVIVE (2021) was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Short Film and won an award at the CamerImage Film Festival. Lara is co-founder of AK49, a collective focusing on women’s perspectives and disability rights in war zones.
