Twenty-five years after his kidnapping during the Kosovo War, painter Skender Muja recounts his survival. While he and many Albanians attempted to flee Kosovo, they were captured and detained in a school. During their detention, they had to face the fear of an uncertain fate.

Born in 1980 in Kosovo, Alban MUJA is a contemporary Kosovar artist and filmmaker based in Berlin and Pristina. Through his works, he explores the history and sociopolitical themes of Kosovo. In 2019, Muja represented the Pavilion of the Republic of Kosovo at the 58th Venice Biennale with his moving image project, Family Album.
