During the last 60 years, the Italian artist Luigi Lineri (85 years) worked discreetly on “La Ricerca” (The research) project. It is a special art installation, made up of thousands of stones. The recovered pebbles, resembling primitive flint tools and symbolic sculptures, illustrate the turning points in the evolution of humanity. From the origins of technology to the birth of art and language, Luigi explores the inner world that defines our species and our connection to the ecosystem.
Born in 1983, Giuseppe PETRUZZELLIS created APLYSIA in 2007, a production company specialized in creative documentaries. He has collaborated on more than 70 film projects (including 17 feature films), working as a screenwriter, producer, editor and directing a few short documentaries. Some of these films have participated in major festivals (Venice Biennale, Ji.hlava, CPH:DOX, Cinéma du Réel, Sheffield Doc Fest, etc.). La Ricerca is his first documentary feature, presented in world premiere at Visions du Réel 2023.
