In 1962, Yann LE MASSON filmed Algerian activists as they were released from prison in France. 50 years later, when the soundtrack has disappeared, Raphaël PILLOSIO sets out in search of these women. He investigates their silent history and offers an essay on the cinema which represents their disappearance, and forever, keeps them alive.
After teaching documentary cinema, Raphaël PILLOSIO founded the production company l’atelier documentary with Fabrice MARACHE in 2007. He also directed several documentaries including Algeria, other views. The Words They Had a Day is his 5th film.
